Spring has sprung

Spring has sprung

It is that time of the year where we dust off our garden tools and making property improvements.  The basic rule of thumb, if you are changing or adding anything to the outside or exterior of your home, it probably requires PIC approval.  This not only protects you from potential fines or neighbor complaints but also future owners of your home.  Just because you see another house with something (i.e. lawn decorations, flags, new trees, lighting systems etc.), it does not mean it is within the rules of our community, so always check with the community manager.

Heads up for submitting PIC applications and what that entails:

There are two separate PIC applications (general PIC and fence PIC).

Improvement projects may include, but are not limited to, the following (click on the links for more specifics on these topics):

Remember, you are responsible for obtaining any permits and to ensure you are in compliance with any city rules regarding property improvements.

Click on the links for a complete list of HOA documents to include rules and specifics on Property Improvement (including forms and site plans).

Please register at the official HOA website to gain access to “residents only” areas.

If you have any questions regarding HOA or PIC applications, please contact the HOA by email at mailto:cam@skagithighlandshoa.org or call at  (800) 544-4912

If you have already done some improvement but did not know you needed PIC approval, please submit a PIC application ASAP to ensure you don’t get violation letters.  This protects you and any future owners of your home.  Understand, that if not approved, you must pay to have the area fixed to standard.  This is why the process is important to do prior to any projects.  We will be doing a compliance survey to look for improvements/additions where a PIC application was not submitted and approved or approved PIC applications that were not done per approved (i.e. screen doors, fences, hot tubs, flags, yard decor, etc.).
